Jobsite Safety Inspections

Ruiz Construction jobsites are inspected daily for employee work practices and PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) usage by the site foreman and company safety officer. These inspections are designed to ensure the employees are following the company's safety program.

Weekly Toolbox Talks

Each week, our foremen and owner engage our employees in a weekly safety talk to review a new safety topic and review any incidents from the previous week. These Toolbox Talks keep everyone focused on safety.

Accident Investigations

Accidents and injuries are always taken seriously and are investigated by the company's safety officer. We use a root cause analysis (RCA) to determine the underlying factors that contributed to the incident.

Annual Safety Training

All of the superintendents and foremen have been OSHA 30-Hour trained. Between January and March, we provide training in the following areas:

  • PPE Usage
  • First Aid
  • CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation)
  • Traffic Control
  • Flagger Certification
  • Forklift Safety
  • Excavation Safety

Zero Tolerance Drug & Alcohol Policy

There is a direct connection between the number of job-related deaths, injuries, and incidents of property damage and the use of drug and alcohol usage in the workplace. For this reason, we operate under a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.

Compliance

Compliance with safety regulations is always a priority at Ruiz Construction. We comply with all state regulations as well as those established by the following organizations:
